New Vice President Robin Cohen Brings Comprehensive Background in Energy Regulation and Economics

BOSTON--()--Charles River Associates (NASDAQ: CRAI), a worldwide leader in providing economic, financial, and management consulting services, today announced that Robin Cohen has joined the firm as a vice president in the Energy Practice based in London. Dr. Cohen specializes in advising on economic regulation and competition issues in the energy industry in the UK and abroad.

Dr. Cohen joins CRA from Deloitte where he was the partner leading economic consulting in the energy sector. His consulting experience includes serving as an expert on power and gas sector disputes, and advising private sector companies entering newly liberalized gas and electricity markets on regulatory accounting, strategy, and asset values. In the UK, he advised electricity, gas, and water companies through the privatization process and more recently, he advised the UK government on its Electricity Market Reform program. In addition, Dr. Cohen has supported regulators in the UK and elsewhere on price setting, evaluating operating efficiencies, and cost allocation. Internationally, he has advised on electricity market liberalization and reform in India, Bangladesh, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Norway, and the US.

In addition to his expertise in the energy industry, Dr. Cohen has consulted for regulatory bodies, governments, and private sector clients on matters involving competition economics and policy impact assessment in a range of other sectors including financial services, health care, postal services, and transportation. Prior to his position at Deloitte, Dr. Cohen was a partner at Arthur Andersen and a director at London Economics. He earned his PhD degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and his MA degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford.
