NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the video for “I’m Cured” (#2776CURED) is here. A new comedic song performed by Aimee Mann, “I’m Cured” depicts the loss and heartache felt by the common cold when a cure is finally found. The video, starring Mann as the common cold, David Wain as the scientist who cures it, and Dave Foley as his colleague, can be viewed at YouTube.com/MyDamnChannel and MyDamnChannel.com/2776.
“I’m Cured” is a co-production of Rob Kutner, the Levinson Brothers and My Damn Channel, home of Wain’s online comedy series Wainy Days. The song and video are available for purchase through iTunes, with proceeds directly supporting OneKid OneWorld, an acclaimed international organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in need, through targeted micro-projects such as building schools in Kenya and El Salvador.
This is the second single from comedy-music album 2776, set to be released on July 4, 2014. A take-no-prisoners tour of American history – and its future – the album documents the nation’s first one thousand years: from gentrification to zombie boy bands, from Civil War to cyborg wars, through an American smorgasbord of pop, rap, country, ragtime, hard rock, and edgy comedy sketches. Other artists featured on the album include Will Forte, Ed Helms, Paul F. Tompkins, Triumph the Insult Comic Doc, and Andrew W.K, among others. More information about the album can be found on Facebook and Twitter, and the first single, “Toymageddon” – featuring Yo La Tengo, Ira Glass and Eugene Mirman – was released November 29 on the UCB Comedy YouTube channel.
The album is the work of Rob Kutner, Emmy-winning comedy writer from The Daily Show and CONAN, and brothers Stephen and Joel Moss Levinson, award-winning Internet comedy producers, directors and writers. The lyrics for “I’m Cured” were written by Kutner, Joel Moss Levinson, Stephen Levinson and Mann. The music was written by Joel Moss Levinson and Mann. The video was directed by Alan Tanner.
