Premiere Fibers and Rhodia Solvay Group Agree to Produce Emana Yarn

CRANBURY, N.J.--()--Fiber producer Rhodia, member of the Solvay group, and Premiere Fibers, Inc., a global industry leader in the development and production of specialized performance fine denier yarns for branded apparel and technical fabric applications, have agreed jointly to launch Emana®, a polyamide-based smart yarn that reduces the appearance of cellulite and makes skin look smoother and more youthful when regularly worn for six hours or more. Premiere Fibers is one of two business units within Universal Fiber Systems, LLC.

Thanks to the bio-active crystals embedded in the yarn, Emana® promotes cosmetic and performance benefits.

The companies will offer a complete and integrated solution to accelerate Emana® development in the USA and Canada.

Emana® is a textile yarn that reduces the appearance of cellulite and makes skin look smoother and more youthful. Emana® is already well-known for athletic and intimate apparel applications, where its advanced technology helps to improve comfort, fit and provides a more youthful appearance to skin surfaces.

“Our partnership with Rhodia is fully aligned with our culture at Premiere Fibers, as we endeavor to seek and develop solutions through collaborative relationships in the marketplace,” says John Amirtharaj, President, Premiere Fibers.

“As leaders in sustainable fiber technology, we are extremely pleased to be aligned with Premiere Fibers. Emana® will be commercially available for use by all textile makers, fashion designers and apparel companies in the United States and Canada,” according to Renato Boaventura, Rhodia Fibras Business Director, member of the Solvay Group.

Emana® was born from market demand for new materials that shape the future of textiles and allow clothing to bring benefits beyond those offered by traditional apparel.
