Randy Levine Joins Jackson Lewis as Of Counsel in New York

NEW YORK--()--Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the largest workplace law firms in the world representing management, is pleased to announce that Randy Levine has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the New York office. He had been Counsel at Akin Gump. Mr. Levine is also President of the New York Yankees.

Mr. Levine has been a successful management labor lawyer since 1980. He has represented clients in the entertainment, sports, manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality and transportation industries, among others. He has served as Labor Commissioner of the City of New York under Mayor Giuliani and negotiated some of the most significant and creative municipal labor agreements in the public sector. He also oversaw labor relations policies for the City when he served as Deputy Mayor for Economic Development Planning and Administration.

Mr. Levine was the Chief Labor Negotiator for Major League Baseball. He negotiated the landmark 1996 Basic Agreement that ended years of labor strife and resulted in revenue sharing, luxury taxes and interleague play.

Mr. Levine has also successfully mediated several high-profile labor disputes, including situations involving the hotel, commercial real estate, television writers and school bus industries.

Mr. Levine has served as Deputy Principal Associate Attorney General and Principal Associate Attorney General of the U.S. Department of Justice. He was also appointed a special representative of the U.S. Department of Labor.

As President of the New York Yankees, Mr. Levine was the principal person responsible for the development of the new Yankee Stadium; the creation of the YES Network and Legends Hospitality LLC; and the growth of the Yankees brand, including agreements in Japan, China and Taiwan. He was the principal liaison with Manchester City Football Club in the formation of New York City Football Club and conceived the yearly college bowl game called the Pinstripe Bowl to Yankee Stadium. He also served on the Boards of the New Jersey Nets and New Jersey Devils.

Mr. Levine received his B.A. in 1977 from The George Washington University and his J.D. in 1980 from Hofstra University School of Law. He serves on The George Washington University Board of Trustees, and the Boards of Directors of the Hooton Foundation, and the Yogi Berra Museum.
