CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the Atlanta metro region, 4th quarter 2103 BidClerk data showed a year-over-year increase of 12.5% for new actively bidding construction projects, compared to a (-10.3%) decrease in activity for the same period last year. Private projects decreased (-4%) in the 4th quarter 2013, in a year-over-year comparison. Public projects increased 21.9% in the 4th quarter of 2013 compared to a decrease of (-20.5%) reported in the 4th quarter of 2012.
Total contract values in the Atlanta region surveyed topped out at $2.3 billion in the 4th quarter of 2013. Overall, in 2013 BidClerk reported on more than 2,500 actively bidding opportunities in Atlanta, totaling over $6.7 billion for 2013.
One notable project actively bidding in the Atlanta region is the SkyHouse – Buckhead, a new 26-story multi-residential development. It is being built at an estimated cost of $80 million.
