SAN FRANCISCO--()--In a sport where the difference between winning and losing is measured in small fractions of a second, the USA Bobsled & Skeleton Team employed innovative technology to gain a competitive edge throughout the 2013-2014 season, which will culminate next week with the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

To enhance speed and performance, the national teams are using AERO Advanced Paint Technology, a film-based paint currently in use on high-performance professional racecars and commercial jetliners. AERO’s paint technology is being employed on all team competition vehicles, including their two-man bobsleds, which were designed and engineered by BMW of North America.

"In our sport, every hundredth of a second counts,” said USBSF CEO Darrin Steele. “We went with AERO paint because it is lighter and more durable than other materials we've used. This allows us to shave fractions of a second over the mile-long course and provide a competitive advantage to our teams."

AERO is a disruptive, green technology paint applique system, created and applied without solvents or sprayers, eliminating the fumes and environmental impact of harsh chemicals.

“AERO’s technology was developed to meet the demands of the aerospace industry and has shown great value in motorsports,” said Jim McGuire, CEO of entrotech, Inc., AERO’s parent company. “We are excited and proud that the USBSF teams representing America in the Winter Olympic Games are taking advantage of the unique benefits of AERO’s high-performance paint technology.”

In addition to its performance benefits, AERO’s technology reduces maintenance time versus ordinary paint. AERO paint can be applied and stripped in minutes, since it does not require drying. More information on AERO paint is available at www.rethinkpaint.com.
