Mace® Brand Pepper Sprays Sets Guidelines for Usage of OC for Enhanced School Safety & Security

CLEVELAND--()--Recent events across the globe and in the USA prompted Mace Security International to team up with Retired Lieutenant Robert Kalinowski to develop proven guidelines for the use of OC (pepper spray) for our schools and universities. See attached link for more information about the guidelines and usage protocols. http://www.mace.com/ocpolicy or http://securemycampus.com/services/resources/

Lt. Kalinowski spent 26 years as a Vermont State Trooper handling everything from being a shift supervisor to weapons instructor for both lethal and non lethal use of force. His last five years were spent in the Office of Professional Development overseeing the Department Firearms Program, as a Deadly Force Instructor, as well as in the canine program, and as recruiting and hiring personnel.

"Nobody would have ever thought it was necessary to discuss school safety to the degree it is discussed, but in today's society, we all need to be realistic. The bottom line is that all staff members' and students' safety should be a priority. Safe alternatives such as Mace® Brand Pepper Spray for teachers to help protect themselves and others should be considered. There is not a cure all and nothing can replace constant communication and training with the law enforcement agencies, but I truly believe that Mace® Brand pepper spray can be a safe option for properly trained staff members,” stated Lt. Kalinowski.

“The OC usage guidelines create a sense of peace of mind for our schools and universities-with Mace® branded products you are never alone,” stated John J. McCann, CEO & President.
