MEGA SHARK VS. MECHA SHARK VS. THE RED CARPET: Stars of new film from ‘SHARKNADO’ studio to attend L.A. premiere on 1/24
On January 24, The Asylum will host a celebrity-studded cast and crew red carpet premiere of its latest over-the-top shark flick, MEGA SHARK VS. MECHA SHARK, starring Christopher Judge, Debbie Gibson, and AMERICAN HUSTLE’s Elisabeth Rohm.
The red carpet will be unrolled at L.A.’s Downtown Independent theater starting at 7 p.m.; the film will screen at 7:30 p.m. Expect the MEGA SHARK VS. MECHA SHARK stars in their finest, as well as the many stars of The Asylum’s previous shark smashes, including SHARKNADO.
Christopher Judge, best known among genre fans for his work on Stargate SG-1, will appear on the red carpet and introduce the film along with director Emile Edwin Smith. SHARKNADO’s Ian Ziering is also expected to be in attendance, along with SHARKTOPUS actress (and star of upcoming Asylum feature film JAILBAIT) Sara Malakul Lane.
Before 2013’s populist juggernaut SHARKNADO, The Asylum was best known for its MEGA SHARK franchise. The series launched in 2009 with MEGA SHARK VS. GIANT OCTOPUS, starring Jaleel White and Gary Stretch, and became an instant B-movie classic. That film and its sequel, MEGA SHARK VS. CROCOSAURUS, have been huge international success and spawned a fiercely loyal fan base.
