MESA, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mike Crouch has been appointed president and chief operating officer of Acme Lift Co., bringing more than 35 years of equipment rental industry experience to the world’s largest wholesale rental company – most recently as Volvo Rents’ vice president of business development.
“I am really excited to have Mike come aboard and think he is a perfect fit for Acme Lift as we begin to build and grow our company into the future,” said Woody Weld, chairman and chief executive officer of Acme Lift, which features the biggest and latest aerial work platforms. “Mike has incredible depth of experience in every aspect of rental operation, plus his knowledge related to the growth of rental companies and the integration of mergers and acquisitions make him a very valuable asset which will help drive Acme Lift’s future plans.”
“Acme Lift has a dynamic team, which I am honored to join,” Crouch said. “I look forward to using my expertise to push forward Woody’s vision of Acme Lift’s future business model and his drive to focus on customer service in the wholesale rental sector.”
Crouch started with Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. in 1978 in Seattle as a sales coordinator and within two years rose to regional vice president. Between 1981 and 1995, he worked at US Rentals, MQ Power and HERC in California and Texas, in operations and sales management. In 1995, he returned to US Rentals as a division manager and stayed aboard when US Rentals was acquired by United Rentals. In 2002, he became vice president of Volvo Rents Europe and a member of the company’s European management team. In 2004, he returned to the United States as vice president of operations for North America. For the last three years, he was Volvo Rents’ vice president of business development, focusing on mergers and acquisitions as the company expanded to 132 locations and into a national rental company in less than two years.
