DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Carolyne Hyde, founder of Quarterly Forum, announced that Ryan Heckman has been appointed Executive Director, effective January 1, 2014.
Formed by Hyde in 1999, Denver-based Quarterly Forum is a community of influential, executive-level business leaders who are shaping the future of Colorado. For 15 years, this premier, non-partisan leadership organization has been committed to connecting, informing and enriching the lives of Colorado business executives while cultivating the next generation of leaders in the community.
Heckman joined Quarterly Forum as a member in September 2013. He succeeded Hyde, who transitioned to the new role of Chairman on January 1st. Heckman will lead Quarterly Forum into its next phase of growth and build upon its core mission of connecting, informing and enriching the lives of Colorado executives.
“Ryan is an outstanding businessman, and will assure Quarterly Forum’s legacy of business and civic leadership in Colorado,” said Hyde. “Our members will benefit greatly from Ryan’s experience building successful businesses and his connections with the next generation of Colorado business leaders.”
Heckman is a former managing partner and co-founder of Excellere Partners, a Denver-based, middle market, private equity firm with approximately $730 million of capital under management. His 17-year career as a private equity investor reflects his passion for entrepreneurship and his commitment to developing successful leaders.
Heckman grew up in Colorado. His early years of skiing led him to become the youngest member of the 1992 U.S. Olympic Team. After a successful athletic career, he graduated with honors from the University of Colorado and embarked on a career of supporting entrepreneurs as a private equity investor.
“Thanks to Carolyne’s tremendous vision and passion for bringing leaders together, Quarterly Forum plays a unique and vital role in Colorado’s business community,” Heckman said. “I’m honored to lead an organization that was created for our state’s most influential executives – I am driven to help our members do amazing things together.”
Among Quarterly Forum’s esteemed membership, two business leaders have had a particularly significant impact on Quarterly Forum since its inception: Scott Reiman, President of Hexagon and the Reiman Foundation, and Mike Fries, President and Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Global, Inc. These prominent Denver executives have supported the organization since it began in 1999. Their loyalty and generosity have helped Quarterly Forum become the outstanding and respected business and civic institution it is today.
“Quarterly Forum is an important leadership organization for our community and I’m proud to be a founding sponsor,” Reiman said. “Like every great leader, Carolyne has been very deliberate in selecting her successor and I’m confident that Ryan will serve the Quarterly Forum membership and our community exceedingly well.”
