As part of its ongoing commitment to investment in the company’s sales, marketing and finance capabilities, Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods has announced several promotions and new hires.
A leader in the all-natural frozen foods industry for 20 years, Dr. Praeger’s health-conscious product line has become a top seller at both conventional and natural retailers. David Horvath, who has been instrumental in charting the growth of company field sales since joining Dr. Praeger’s in March 2013, is being promoted into the newly created position of Senior VP of Sales, reporting to Larry Praeger, CEO. Horvath’s past industry experience includes time with SILK/WhiteWave Foods, Sara Lee and Applegate Farms.
Dan O’Brien has been brought on board as Director of Retail Sales responsible for the Western United States and Canada, and will report to David Horvath. A top performer in his earlier positions with Proctor & Gamble and Carnation/Nestle, O’Brien also has a deep background in the natural/organic side of the business with General Mills (Small Planet Foods), Mountain Sun Organics, Golden Temple (Yogi Tea & Peace Cereal), Immaculate Baking and Castor & Pollux Pet Works.
In the marketing arena, Allison Meyer, Senior Brand Manager, has been promoted to Director of Marketing, reporting to Larry Praeger. Meyer joined Dr. Praeger’s in March 2013, having previously worked with Pinnacle Foods and Applegate Farms in strategic marketing and brand strategy roles.
Additionally, Joseph Borowski has been appointed VP of Finance, reporting to Jeff Cohen, COO and CFO. Prior to joining Dr. Praeger’s, Borowski was Director of Finance at Sugar Foods, and held other Senior Finance roles at KPMG, Pfizer and Novartis.
