WOODINVILLE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Columbia Winery is kicking off 2014 with a new wine style and a new label. Led by Winemaker Sean Hails, Washington State’s first premium winery has revamped its portfolio to build on the progressive philosophy of its founders and deliver a quality-driven interpretation of the Columbia Valley AVA.
Over the past two years, Hails and his team have worked closely with well-respected growers throughout the Columbia Valley to create four new wines with remarkable texture and an impressive depth of flavor. The four bottlings—Chardonnay, Composition Red Blend, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon—give a nod to the winery’s legacy, while ushering in a new era for winemaking in Washington State.
“Columbia Winery has always been synonymous with forward-thinking winemaking,” Hails said. “My job is to build on that progressive foundation and create a modern expression of the Columbia Valley. Our aim is to offer multi-dimensional wines with fruit-driven flavor and food-friendly acidity.”
In addition to changing the wine style, Columbia Winery is revealing a new look and feel that can be seen on their labels, as well as the new sign in front of their iconic Woodinville tasting room.
The winery’s four new releases will hit shelves in the Northwest in January, reaching the rest of the U.S. by Fall 2014.
