Immersion Names Jason Patton New Vice President & General Manager of Content & Media Business

Patton to build world class team to lead Immersion’s content and media initiative

SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Immersion Corporation (Nasdaq:IMMR), the leading developer and licensor of touch feedback technology, today announced that Jason Patton has joined Immersion as Vice President & General Manager for Content & Media. An experienced entertainment executive who has focused on advanced technologies throughout his career, Patton will lead Immersion’s Content & Media business development, strategic vision and operational plan.

Patton, who assumed his role on January 6th, will be based at Immersion’s headquarters in San Jose, CA, and will report directly to Viegas.

Patton has served as an executive at the forefront of developing new digital technologies in the media space in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to joining Immersion, Patton was Senior Vice President, Business Development & Technology of YOD China, a publicly-traded company focused entirely on bringing advanced TV offerings featuring premium Hollywood content to mainland China. For a decade prior, he managed business development at In Demand Networks, the joint venture owned by Comcast, Cox and Time Warner Cable, serving most recently as Senior Vice President, Business Development. He was responsible for launching In Demand's video on demand offering across the United States airing the top titles from Hollywood studios and all of the major television networks. He also played a key role in launching In Demand’s online video store, its 24/7 high definition (HD) service and the Howard Stern subscription video on demand service. Prior to joining In Demand, Patton worked for AT&T in both business development and mergers & acquisitions.

He is a graduate of AT&T’s Financial Leadership Program. Patton holds a B.S. in broadcast journalism from Boston University, a B.S. in business administration from Boston University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
