PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Elemental Technologies, the leading supplier of video solutions for multiscreen content delivery, today announced it will power 4K video processing in high-efficiency video coding (HEVC / H.265) and MPEG-DASH formats for leading consumer electronics device and semiconductor manufacturers at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada, January 7-10.
Elemental’s award-winning, software-based 4K HEVC video processing is showcased in multiple demonstrations on the show floor this week:
- Delivering 4K content: streaming 4K HEVC and MPEG-DASH video to tablets and set-top boxes with Akamai.
- Qualifying UHD-ready hardware: demonstrating Elemental 4K HEVC compatibility with multiple hardware chipsets including STMicroelectronics (private suite for invited guests only) and Broadcom (South Hall 2 MP25966; by appointment only. For media inquiries, please contact us).
- Streaming TV Everywhere: real-time encoding of MPEG-DASH-compatible DivX Live for streaming of HEVC-based content to an Android tablet (private suite by invitation).
As 4K content, services and STBs become more available and consumer demand ramps, content creators are beginning to future proof productions in the 4K format. Elemental CEO and co-founder Sam Blackman will offer insight into the 4K revolution unfolding in video processing in a panel discussion at CES. Joining Blackman will be senior executives from BSkyB, CableLabs, DirecTV, Samsung and 3net Studios. The panel, “4K, UHD and 3D: The Premium Experience Comes Home,” takes place from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, January 9 in Room N-264 (LVCC North Hall).
At CES, Elemental will also host private demonstrations of real-time 4Kp60 HEVC / MPEG-DASH encoding with streaming to 4K televisions and tablet devices in a suite at The Venetian Hotel. To make an appointment with an Elemental representative at CES 2014, please click here.
