ExxonMobil Holiday Gift Helps Grapevine Nonprofit Agency Serve North Texas Families

  • Gift of $50,000 made to Grapevine Relief And Community Exchange

IRVING, Texas--()--Rex W. Tillerson, chairman and chief executive officer of Exxon Mobil Corporation, today presented the company’s annual holiday gift of $50,000 to Grapevine Relief And Community Exchange (GRACE), advancing its relief efforts for homeless clients and families with limited income.

“GRACE makes a difference to hundreds of families in North Texas,” Tillerson said at a ceremony on Friday. “We hope this gift will further GRACE’s compassionate service to our neighbors during the holiday season.”

Founded in 1987, GRACE offers emergency-assistance programs, medical services, transitional-housing placements, food, clothing and other vital services to more than 4,500 individuals and families annually.

“This gift is a huge blessing to GRACE and the community we serve,” said Shonda Schaefer, executive director of GRACE. “Thanks to the generosity of ExxonMobil we will be able to create opportunity and hope for 500 additional families.”

Tillerson established the holiday gift in 2006 to provide support to North Texas nonprofit agencies during the holiday season. Past recipients include Children’s Advocacy Center of Denton County, Interfaith Housing Coalition, Irving Cares, Lena Pope Home, Presbyterian Night Shelter of Tarrant County, St. Philip’s School and Community Center, and Vogel Alcove.
