Central Desktop Launches Next Generation of SocialBridge Cloud Collaboration Platform for Marketers and Agencies

Extensible Platform Features Simplified User Experience, Easier Cloud File Management, Deeper Reporting and Analysis and APIs for Integration with Other Marketing Systems

LOS ANGELES--()--Central Desktop (www.centraldesktop.com), a leading cloud-based collaboration platform company, is continuing to address the needs of marketers and agencies in an increasingly demanding workplace with major enhancements to its SocialBridge® collaboration platform.

We are no longer confined to physical work locations or equipment, and we’re often working with globally dispersed team members and cloud-based file systems. These new capabilities and advancements of existing features, which were driven by customer and market feedback, will help meet the realities of our shifting work environment by making it possible for people to work faster and more easily without unnecessary effort.”

Major enhancements in this release include:

  • Simplified user experience. The user interface and navigation were reorganized and refreshed based on feedback from customer research and extensive user experience testing and best practices.
  • Account view for streamlined client and campaign management. Most marketers and agencies organize their work by client/account or by campaign. Account view allows teams to easily see which work projects are associated with specific clients or campaigns.
  • Ability to upload files from anywhere. Most users store files in a multitude of locations. Central Desktop’s SocialBridge is now agnostic as to the origination point of files. Users can upload files to workspaces from storage locations beyond the desktop – including Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, FTP and elsewhere in the cloud – without having to download and re-upload files or leave the platform to access another account.
  • Edit in the cloud. A new Cloud Edit add-on enables users to edit files directly from SocialBridge using the native apps installed on their computers. Designed for all file types, browsers, and platforms, Cloud Edit uses the default application installed on a user’s computer to edit files: DOC files open in Microsoft Word, PPT files open in Microsoft PowerPoint, images open in Photoshop, CAD files open in AutoCAD, and so forth. Cloud Edit automatically locks the file while it’s being edited, so there’s no chance that changes can be made simultaneously to a file and prevents file versions from branching. After editing, users save the file from within the native application and it will automatically be saved back to SocialBridge as a new version with full audit log information.
  • New reporting engine for deeper reporting and analysis. Users can run reports on workspaces, milestones, tasks, time-tracking and users. They can filter, arrange and group data to keep track of projects and save and share reports with other internal members and executives who need to be looped into the status of projects.
  • REST-based APIs. A new Workspace API makes possible custom connections with third-party applications to create, read, update and delete workspaces. This API adds to the already available Files and Search APIs.

Many of these new capabilities are currently available to SocialBridge users or in beta.
