ROGERS, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Archway, a leader in marketing supply chain management services, has reinforced its position as the largest distributor of prepaid and financial cards by shipping more than 800 million gift cards this year to retail and restaurant locations across the United States and Canada.
According to Nielsen’s Holiday Spending Forecast, gift cards are still the most popular gift to give, followed by tech products and toys. In general, spending is expected to make a mild climb, with sales forecasted to rise two percent over last year. Consumers will be spending almost the same amount as last year, with 30 percent from all income brackets reporting they will spend between $250 and $500, and 20 percent reporting they will spend between $500 and $1,000.
“In the past five years, Archway has helped marketers fuel holiday season sales by putting more than 3.2 billion gift cards in consumers’ hands,” said Rich Rizzardi, senior vice president, market strategy and revenue growth. “Gift cards are still on the top of consumers’ gift lists, so we make sure that through forecasting, our clients have proper inventory and cards are never out of stock.”
