FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC), the premier public-private partnership in the government IT community, today announced the Top 30 finalists for Igniting Innovation 2014 Showcase and Awards. Finalists were selected from a diverse pool of solutions, tools, services and programs developed by government and industry leaders to address some of the government’s biggest IT challenges. The Top 30 will exhibit their solutions at the Igniting Innovation Showcase and Award event on February 6, 2014 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.

A panel of judges comprised of government and industry IT leaders evaluated this year’s nominations by employing comprehensive criteria, such as: risk and novelty; collaboration and engagement; efficiency and effectiveness; and transferability and scalability. The Top 30 finalists represent a broad range of IT innovations supporting both the defense and civilian markets at all levels: federal, state and local.
The Top 8, which will be selected via social media voting during the February 6th Showcase and Awards event, will gain national exposure through live presentations to the judging panel, IT executives, influencers and media. Following the presentations, social media voting will be employed again to select one overall Igniting Innovation winner. Additional “Dynamite” awards will be given in the areas of: most disruptive; 3Rs (reduce, recycle, reuse); high risk/high reward; greatest citizen impact; and incubator.
