Cardinal Bank Community Fund Awards Grant to Local Fairfax Organization Our Daily Bread

TYSONS CORNER, Va.--()--Cardinal Bank (NASDAQ: CFNL) announced today that the Cardinal Bank Community Fund has awarded $1,500 to Our Daily Bread, the Fairfax-based organization whose programs strive to prevent homelessness with a three-tiered approach: providing food assistance, financial assistance, and ultimately financial literacy training. Founded almost three decades ago as a temporary homeless shelter, Our Daily Bread offers the temporary assistance individuals and families need to recover from a crisis, stay in their homes, and maintain their self-sufficiency.

Cardinal Executive Vice President Eleanor Schmidt, and Fairfax Banking Center Manager Jeffrey Lee presented the check to Our Daily Bread Executive Director, Lisa Whetzel, Grants Manager Lynn Latimer and Seasonal Programs Manager, Dawn Sykes.

“Families throughout our region struggle every day to provide for the basic needs of their families,” said F. Kevin Reynolds, President, Cardinal Bank. “Any unexpected expense, whether it’s a car repair, medical expenses, or a rent increase, can turn that struggle into a true crisis, with devastating effects on the entire family unit. We are honored to partner with Our Daily Bread to support their mission to provide crucial resources and programs that can help working families stay in their homes and support them towards self-sufficiency.”

Through its grant program, the Cardinal Bank Community Fund has benefited more than 80 local organizations and service programs since its inception, keeping sight of the Fund’s mission and deep commitment to giving back to the communities where we live, work, and raise our families. Cardinal employees also donate generously of their time to community organizations throughout the region.
