KIPA: Seoul International Invention Fair 2013 (SIIF 2013), Successful Exhibition of More Than 700 New-Generation Inventions from 31 Countries

SEOUL, South Korea--()--The Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) announced that the Seoul International Invention Fair(SIIF) 2013 held Nov. 29-Dec. 2 in COEX Hall A in the Republic of Korea was successful and that the success confirmed it is now one of the top 4 international invention fair.

Despite its short history, SIIF, celebrating its 9th anniversary this year, hosted approximately 700 new-generation inventions from 31 different countries including Germany, Russia and Taiwan and attracted visitors from all over the world.

Many of the International Federation of Inventors' Associations(IFIA) executive committee members participated in 2013 SIIF to discuss about the current status and the future of inventions worldwide, and the event was sponsored by World Intellectual Property Organization(WIPO).

The Purchase Consulting Hall at 2013 SIIF was especially crowded with domestic and world prominent buyers including Lotte Homeshopping, ebay, Amazon, Rakuten, Taobao and Alibaba participating in the consulting session. The buyers consulted about the overseas market sales and commercialization of the outstanding inventions.

Inventors from all over the world were favorable to SIIF complimenting the scale and the contents of the event. The event confirmed the fact that it is now one of the top 4 international invention fairs side by side with IENA in Germany, INPEX in Pittsburg, US and International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in Switzerland.

At this year’s SIIF, ‘Silk sericin scaffold for promoting deep wound healing’ invented by Pornanong Aramwit won the Grand Prize. The invention can enhance deep wound healing process by activating collagen production and suppressing inflammation-related cytokine secretion.

Jae-Yong Lee, the president of Avonne Inc., Korea received the Gold Prize with the invention 'Shadow Advertising System Using Street Light and the Method Using It', and 10 other corporate, individual runners-up received the Semi-Grand Prize, Gold, Silver, Bronze and the Special Prizes.

This year, SIIF played a very special role as it was held along with the Korea Invention Patent Exhibition 2013, and 2013 Trademark-Design Right Exhibition. It was a huge international exchange venue where various information about intellectual property such as invention, design and patent, were all shared at the same time and place to a greater extent which never occurred anywhere in the world.
