LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FC Barcelona coaches are coming to town December 26 through December 31, 2013, to spread the club’s unique soccer style and exclusively conduct Holiday Soccer Camps for ages eight to 16 in Los Angeles and San Antonio. FC Barcelona is the world's best football club of the decade and the best 2012 Football club, according to the International Federation of Football History & Statistics.
The Southern California Holiday Camp takes place in Los Angeles (Encino) at the Sepulveda Basin Sports Complex, and the Southeast Texas Holiday Camp in San Antonio at the STAR Soccer Complex.
Additionally, Barcelona coaches are choosing six players for Team USA to travel and showcase their talents in the 2014 FCB Escola Tournament in Barcelona, where they will compete against boys and girls of the FCB Escola on fields of the original La Masia adjacent to Camp Nou.
“After one week with FC Barcelona coaches, parents and coaches are witnessing a transformation in their young players. Players are returning to their AYSO, Club, and high school teams with an enhanced skill set and entirely new approach to the game,” says Frank Bagheri, President of the Official Barcelona Camps, USA. “Southern California and Southeast Texas are beautiful destinations in December. With two-hour sessions each day, it leaves a lot of time for vacationing and sightseeing.
Bagheri adds: “Each participant has an opportunity to win a Lionel Messi-signed autographed jersey. I can’t think of a better holiday gift for a young Barcelona fan.”
The Holiday camp consists of a maximum of 45 players per time slot. Each slot has players of a similar age. Players are then separated into three groups for exclusive training with the Barcelona coaches. Elite Camp age range is 8-16 years old. The registration fee for the Elite Camp is $695. The FCBEscola is a soccer school model based on FC Barcelona's philosophy whose main objective is the integral training of the students. This training is based on two basic ideas:
- Teaching players the basics of soccer so they can successfully face up to the sporting challenges they might face in the future.
- Transmitting the values that represent FC Barcelona: tolerance, respect, solidarity, comradery, citizenship and integration.
The camp follows the training methods of the youth teams of the club, which consist of a series of progressive exercises related to each stage or level of education.
