DES MOINES, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ATW Training & Consulting, Inc. and University of Phoenix today announced their continued educational collaboration. The new alliance will allow current and past ATW learners the ability to use some completed ATW courses to fulfill credits for an undergraduate degree.
"We're excited to provide yet another way for our clients to earn college credits, which helps working adult students save time and money by applying their past experience and training toward a degree," said Todd McDonald, Founder and President of ATW Training. "We’re especially excited that the quality of our training programs has been recognized by University of Phoenix.”
"We are committed to continuing this important work with ATW—to help students use Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) to advance toward an undergraduate degree and enhance the affordability of their academic programs," said Dr. Bill Pepicello, president of University of Phoenix. "ATW, like University of Phoenix, is committed to making higher education an achievable reality for anyone who is willing to work hard."
Based on a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), an evaluation of learning obtained in a nontraditional format, University of Phoenix has qualified many ATW courses for potential applicability towards an undergraduate degree depending on credit deficiencies. In conjunction with ATW, they have also created a Credit Recommendation Guide (CRG) that outlines all the courses that may qualify for credit towards undergraduate degree requirements. Application of credit for assessed activities from ATW Training towards degree requirements may vary depending on the student’s degree program of choice or state or jurisdiction of residence.
“Current and past ATW learners may be able to get credit for some of the training they have received in the past, as well. We’re proud to be able to help many of our learners accomplish their personal dreams of completing a degree program," said McDonald. “Past ATW training participants will work with a credit coordinator at ATW who will help them identify eligible courses and credit hours. New training participants can know before they even take a course whether the course is approved and for how many credit hours.”
Current and prospective ATW learners can access a current listing of approved courses and other important information at www.phoenix.edu/atwlearner.
