DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Celtic International, a leading provider of intermodal transportation services, announced today that Richard Hyland will step down from his role as CEO, but will remain an active member on the Board of Directors for Transplace. Celtic President Steven Golich will assume full responsibility for leading Celtic and will have Mr. Hyland available as an advisor to the business. Mr. Golich will report to Transplace CEO Tom Sanderson.
“I have enjoyed building the relationship between Transplace and Celtic during the past two years since we joined forces. Rich is an outstanding entrepreneur and the successful founder and leader of Celtic International. With his vision, passion and commitment, he has positioned the company to continue expanding and thriving into the future. Coming up on its tenth anniversary, Celtic continues its growth by adding to its customer base and broadening business with current customers,” said Transplace CEO Tom Sanderson.
Mr. Hyland founded two successful intermodal marketing companies during his career. The first company, Cross Con Terminals, was founded in 1977. After Cross Con Terminals became part of Pacer International, Mr. Hyland served there as president. He then started Celtic International in 2004, which joined Transplace in 2011.
“I have enjoyed the successes during my career, and am especially appreciative of the Transplace partnership. As I continue my role on the Board of Directors, I know that Celtic has strong leadership in place with Steve Golich, Tom Lohan, Mike Amerio and Mark Hyland,” said Rich Hyland. “With industry leaders like Tom Sanderson and George Abernathy, Transplace and Celtic will continue to exceed customer expectations while building great transportation businesses.”
John Anderson, advisory director, Greenbriar Equity Group, added: “On behalf of the board, we thank Rich for his dedication to Celtic. We look forward to continuing to work with him in his role on the board as we execute our strategy and experience success with Celtic and the entire Transplace organization.”
Sanderson added: “Steve Golich is a great leader with a long career at Alliance Shippers. As he comes up on his first anniversary at Celtic, I am excited that he is already positioned to take the reins from Rich as we continue building a prosperous intermodal company.”
