FORT WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--With prolific oil plays such as the Bakken and Niobrara taking center stage in U.S. domestic production, oil and gas industry leaders will converge in Denver December 11-13 as NAPE, the world’s largest E&P (upstream) expo, kicks-off its inaugural NAPE Rockies. Consistent with NAPE’s Houston shows that industry professionals have considered a must-attend for the last 20 years, NAPE will open with its Business Conference to be held Wednesday, December 11 from 10 am – 3 pm.
“These are exciting times to be a part of the oil and gas industry with unconventional shale continuing to transform the energy landscape of America,” commented Marty Schardt, Executive Vice President of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL), which is the managing partner of NAPE.
Focusing on the energy rich Rockies region from New Mexico to Canada, the Business Conference will open with a panel discussion that will take an in-depth look at the current operating environment in the region. This discussion will cover a variety of topics including a discussion of new areas of opportunities, how the region’s plays are offering returns to investors, drilling best-practices, production enhancement developments, drilling efficiencies and the minimization of environmental impact, service and supply costs, production and infrastructure bottlenecks, political and community challenges.
“As the industry evolves and adapts, NAPE has worked hard to do the same. When you consider our Business Conference topics and focus; it’s all about relevance and timing,” said S. Craig Young, Senior Director of NAPE. “We are thrilled to now have a NAPE Rockies offering.”
Following the Business Conference panel discussion, Luncheon Keynote Speaker James J. Volker, CEO & Chairman Whiting Petroleum Corporation, will discuss how technology has impacted America’s energy future, what is has meant to his business and the outlook for domestic oil and gas resource plays.
The final panel of the day will focus on the unsettled political and regulatory environment in the Intermountain West as it relates to the industry. Experts will discuss topics impacting the oil and natural gas industry ranging from the impact of adverse tax and legislative policy to harmful regulations that would reduce access to federal lands for producers.
The distinguished panelists participating in the two discussions will include: Ted Brown, Senior Vice President - Northern Region Noble Energy, Inc., Matt Thompson, Vice President - Northern Division QEP Resources, Inc., and Brad Miller, General Manger - Regulatory Affairs Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, to name a few. (A full list of speakers can be found on the NAPE website at www.napeexpo.com.)
