NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP announced today that Sara Y. Razi will join the Firm’s Antitrust Practice as Counsel in the Washington, D.C. office.
Ms. Razi will join the Firm from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), where she has served as the Deputy Assistant Director, Bureau of Competition of the Mergers IV Division since 2010. In this role, she managed all aspects of litigation and investigation proceedings for the Division, including those involving hospitals, food products, retail and consumer goods. She also has extensive experience litigating a range of merger challenges in federal court and in administrative proceedings on behalf of the Division. She joined the FTC in 2004 as an Attorney Advisor to FTC Chairman Deborah Platt Majoras before joining the Mergers IV Division as a Staff Attorney prior to her promotion to Deputy Assistant Director. Prior to her government service, Ms. Razi was engaged in private practice.

Ms. Razi received her J.D., summa cum laude, from American University, Washington College of Law in 2000, where she was Note & Comment Editor for the American University Law Review. She earned her B.A. from University of Colorado in 1995. Ms. Razi is also a frequent speaker and panelist on antitrust enforcement and litigation issues.
