MED-CARE Diabetic & Medical Supplies, Inc. Wins Medicaid Contracts to Provide Mail-Order Medical Supplies in 45 States

BOCA RATON, Fla.--()--MED-CARE Diabetic & Medical Supplies, Inc., a leading medical and pharmacy mail order supply company, announced that it has been awarded contracts to provide mail order medical supplies to Medicaid patients in 45 states. As an accredited Medicaid provider, MED-CARE offers the ease of home delivery for diabetic testing, sleep apnea, oxygen and other medical supplies and devices.

In addition to accepting Medicaid in 45 states, MED-CARE is now welcoming new patients participating in state and federal government Health Insurance Marketplaces, also known as Insurance Exchanges. State and federally run Insurance Exchanges, along with the expansion of Medicaid, are key components of The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), making healthcare accessible to millions of Americans that were previously uninsured. The PPACA is expected to lower long term health costs by offering better preventive care and provide economic relief to hospitals and communities previously forced to bear the burden of caring for the uninsured.

“We believe the expansion of access to healthcare to all Americans is a great step forward and MED-CARE has the capacity to service the expected new influx of patients,” said Dr. Steven Silverman, founder and CEO of MED-CARE. “MED-CARE has the most comprehensive mail-order product line of medical and pharmacy supplies available in the U.S., as well as patient advocates that can help manage each patient’s individual needs.”

MED-CARE helps patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, respiratory diseases, sleep apnea, urological issues and others, by providing medical supplies directly to their homes.

Med-Care also has received contracts from Medicare as a mail order provider of diabetic testing supplies, oxygen supplies, and sleep apnea supplies under the Medicare Competitive Bidding program. This program, originally legislated in 2003 as part of The Medicare Modernization Act which created Medicare Part D for subscription drug coverage, is budgeted to save taxpayers and beneficiaries billions of dollars over the next decade by a combination of reimbursement cuts, rigorous provider standards, and reductions in waste and abuse.
