NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cognito, the full-service public relations and marketing agency for the financial services sector, today announced the appointment of Nabil Ashour to the position of Vice President in its New York office. Nabil will provide strategic support and public relations consultation to a broad range of financial services clients across the United States.
Nabil brings over a decade of experience in strategic communications consulting to Cognito. Prior to joining the firm, Nabil was an account director at Ogilvy Public Relations, where he worked for more than five years in both the Dubai and New York offices. He drove strategy for a variety of clients, including Barclays, State Street, the French Ministry of Finance (IFA), The Carlyle Group and BlackRock.
“Nabil brings an incredible breadth of financial services experience, industry knowledge and a global outlook to Cognito,” said Cognito President Dan Simon. “Our clients are already benefiting from his senior counsel and perspective as they seek to rise above the competition.”
“Cognito represents the future of communications and marketing in financial services – a focused model that is positioned to respond and adapt to the changes impacting the way people find, digest and action information,” said Ashour. “Cognito has the people, the focus and the integrated approach – all underpinned by great proprietary technology – to take our current and future clients to the next level.”
The hiring of Nabil continues the rapid growth trend for the firm, which recently appointed its first director of digital strategy in London. Cognito recently marked ten straight years of double-digit growth and launched Opportunities, a digital integrated editorial calendar service, and Comtela, a Twitter monitoring tool that expands the focus on communications technology through its Cognito Analytics unit.
