HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jonathan Tinkle, founder and creative director of Jonathan Blake LLC (www.jonathanblake.net), has been selected by The Houston Business Journal as a 2013 40 Under 40 honoree. Chosen from among more than 300 nominations, Tinkle and the other 40 Under 40 honorees were announced on Oct. 1. All 40 Under 40 honorees will be recognized at an awards celebration on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Houston Zoo and will be featured in the Nov. 1 issue of The Houston Business Journal.
Tinkle, 22, is a native of Houston. He credits his entrepreneurial parents, John and Mandy Tinkle, and his younger sister, Amanda, other family members, friends of all ages, his clients, the cultural diversity of Houston and its pro-business climate with providing him inspiration as well as supporting him in pursuing his dreams early in life.
Tinkle launched his first high end women’s fashion collection in October 2012 at age 21, only two months shy of his 22nd birthday. Tinkle and Jonathan Blake have been featured in numerous print and broadcast media outlets, including The Houston Business Journal, The Houston Chronicle, CultureMap, PaperCity, Houston Modern Luxury, Houstonia, Hum, For The Best: The Woodlands, The Chic Sheet Blog, PetTalk, KRIV Fox 26 TV, KHOU Channel 11 TV, News 92 FM, Small Business Today Radio, SBA Radio and many others.
“It is a huge honor to receive such a prestigious award from The Houston Business Journal. For me, being named to the 40 under 40 Class of 2013 means that all of the hard, behind-the-scenes work that I put into launching my business has been publicly recognized. I started sketching women’s clothing when I was 14, and I spent more than three years honing my designs before introducing my first collection at a runway show in Houston in October of 2012,” Tinkle commented.
