TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Skkynet Cloud Systems, Inc. (“Skkynet” or “the Company”) (OTC.BB:SKKY), a leader in real-time cloud information systems, is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Cogent DataHub Summit. Experts in process engineering and embedded systems recently gathered to share presentations, demos and exhibits at the Cogent DataHub Summit at the Tokyo International Forum in Tokyo, Japan, hosted in collaboration with Nissin Systems Co. Ltd. and Virtual Engineering Company (VEC). Customer representatives from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Plant Engineering, Fuji Electric, Mitsui Ocean Development Engineering Co. (MODEC) and Tess Engineering presented their use of the Cogent DataHub to collect and distribute real-time data for monitoring and control of remote systems. Eight Cogent partners, namely Nissin Systems, Takebishi, TOA, BellChild, GridConnect, Device Drivers, @Techno and DataHub Application Center (Osaka), showed examples of connecting PLCs, embedded sensors, and wireless devices to the cloud, providing a means to access real-time data through a web browser, record it in a database or process it using any Cogent DataHub capability.
“We are impressed with the enthusiastic participation,” said Andrew Thomas, President of Cogent Real-Time Systems. “The diversity of applications across such a wide range of industries illustrates the universal appeal for this kind of cloud-based real-time system.”
Highlights of the demos and examples included implementations of EchoNet Lite for building automation and IEC-61850 for power generation from Nissin Systems; a DataHub plug-in for communication with EnOcean embedded devices from Device Drivers; and remote monitoring for water treatment plants, fuel cells, gas-fired boilers, and hybrid power generation systems from Cogent customers. Participants focused their discussion on the opportunities for using the Cogent DataHub in real-time, cloud-based systems, and offered valuable recommendations for maximizing the potential of this breakthrough technology.
“We would like to thank Nissin Systems and VEC for helping us host this Summit, and look forward to similar events in the near future. These opportunities to share ideas and knowledge among customers and partners will continue to grow in importance as the industrial cloud gains prominence,” said Mr. Thomas.
