LINDON, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AccessData, a pioneer of digital investigations and litigation support, today announced the appointment of Craig Carpenter to the role of Chief Marketing Officer. Carpenter joins the AccessData executive team after 7 years at Recommind as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, where he pioneered and grew “predictive coding” and “predictive information governance” into the hottest trends in the eDiscovery and GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) markets, respectively. Before Recommind Carpenter ran global field and channel marketing at Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT), helping to create and popularize the UTM (Unified Threat Management) network security market, which Fortinet proceeded to dominate over the following decade.
“Craig’s recent success at Recommind and his impact on that organization’s rapid revenue growth through strong industry leadership and customer engagement speaks directly to the reasons we chose him to lead our renewed focus in marketing and our associated branding and messaging goals in 2013 and beyond,” said Tim Leehealey, CEO of AccessData. “Craig not only adds great depth and experience to our e-discovery business, but has had similar success in the security market at Fortinet and is a known and trusted leader in both markets. The pairing of AccessData’s strong revenue growth and game-changing technology with a recognized marketing leader is a terrific fit that will help accelerate our already impressive growth.”
Carpenter’s appointment reinforces AccessData’s commitment to capitalize on the fast revenue growth and key technological advancements the company has made over the past 24 months. The company has made critical technical breakthroughs on several fronts in addressing the most pressing challenges organizations face from the skyrocketing growth in the volume and diversity of data alongside increasingly complex and persistent threats from cyber criminals.
Among other achievements, Carpenter served as an author of The Sedona Conference Primer on Social Media and is a longstanding member of The Sedona Conference. He routinely speaks at industry forums and conferences on topics including corruption, compliance, cybercrime, security and e-discovery, and has taught post-graduate classes at the University of San Francisco on digital rights management and high-tech marketing.
"AccessData is in a very unique and compelling position with market leading technology, an extensive and growing customer base crossing nearly every market segment and a talented global team committed to customer success and rapid innovation,” said Carpenter. “The company is at the crossroads of the most important trends facing CIOs, CSOs and GCs today, including cybersecurity, mobility, BYOD, incident response, GRC and e-discovery. I’m excited to join such a remarkable, fast-moving organization and look forward to leading the charge in achieving brand recognition reflecting the company’s vast, global customer base."
