Cowperthwaite to the newly created position of Vice President of Advanced Security and Strategy. Cowperthwaite, who previously served as System Director of Enterprise Security & Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Providence Health & Services, a healthcare delivery organization with $12.5 billion in revenue, 32 hospitals and more than 65,000 employees, will be responsible for providing tactical and strategic leadership for product capabilities, market positioning, strategy and product placement.

Cowperthwaite brings more than 15 years of experience within the information security industry, and nearly 30 years in both physical and information security. Cowperthwaite served in the U.S. Army for 11 years, followed by nearly a decade at EDS. During his years at EDS, Eric worked as a System Engineer, Solution Architect and Information Security Consultant. This included serving as the first Information Security Officer for Medi-Cal and leading consulting teams in EDS’ US Consulting Services. For more than 6 years, he has served as the CISO of Providence Health & Services, where he helped to resolve a major security incident and led Providence through the first ever Health & Human Services Resolution Agreement and Corrective Action Plan for a healthcare Covered Entity. He attended California State University, Sacramento and earned a BS in Computer Engineering.
