PRINCETON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Princeton Power Systems is proud to announce the newest addition to its product line – the GTIB-30 is a 30 kW power converter based on the industry-leading GTIB product platform.
The two-port, bi-directional GTIB-30 has recently passed rigorous testing and been certified to UL 1741, which includes compliance with IEEE 1547; it is now widely available to be used in a variety of advanced grid-tied applications. The 30 kW power level of the GTIB-30 makes it ideal for: energy storage, distributed generation, small microgrids, and commercial peak demand reduction, at small businesses, retail locations, and other commercial entities.

Particularly for emerging energy storage markets, the GTIB-30 fills a gap for a flexible, powerful grid-tied inverter that works with advanced battery types such as lithium-ion, sodium nickel chloride, and many others. The GTIB-30 is NEMA 3 rated for outdoor applications and includes an internal isolation transformer and AC and DC disconnects. It includes many built-in monitoring and communications protocols, and a color touch-screen interface for quick setup and operation.
The GTIB-30 includes all of the features and benefits of the GTIB product line, including on-grid and off-grid or “island mode” operation, built in smart grid functions such as ramp-rate control, frequency regulation, dynamic VAR control, and bi-directional operation. The GTIB was the first commercial-scale power converter to offer this range of advanced features along with UL 1741 certification. Hundreds of GTIB’s have been deployed for several years in diverse applications from military microgrids to the off-grid photovoltaic system that powers Alcatraz Island.
