DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Telerus, Inc., a provider of citizen self-service solutions for local jails, launched InmateInfo.com today. InmateInfo.com is the online companion to Telerus’ Automated Information Services (AIS™), the nation’s leading voice automation service for local jails. InmateInfo.com allows citizens to easily pull inmate case information, such as charges, bonds, and visitation times simply by typing the first few letters of an inmate’s last name. InmateInfo.com also allows citizens to make deposits into inmate accounts for the purchase of commissary items such as toiletries and snacks.
“Extending AIS™ to the web is only natural,” said Ted Radey, Telerus CEO. “Some citizens prefer retrieving info by phone and some by web, so it makes sense to offer both. Information access by web is expected by most citizens, but only half of our current AIS™ customers have inmate search on their official websites. With no agency costs, we expect InmateInfo.com to accelerate inmate search proliferation, which should benefit facilities and families alike,” he added.
Participation in InmateInfo.com is free for facilities. Participating facilities can integrate or link Inmate Info Search (IIS) to their official websites saving valuable IT staff time or the expense of outside web development services. IIS is the most intelligent and powerful inmate search of its kind. Users simply type the first few letter of an inmate’s last name and a list instantly appears with inmate ages listed to differentiate between inmates with the same legal names.
InmateInfo.com also allows friends and family members of inmates to make credit card based deposits for inmates. Deposits are completed in minutes through major credit cards and customers are immediately emailed receipts. The InmateInfo.com payment platform is Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliant, which is a set of requirements designed to ensure that companies that process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.
“AIS™ has worked out well for us and we are pleased to offer our citizens another self-service channel for inmate information and making deposits,” said Major Glen Matayabas of the Buncombe County Detention Facility. “We have already seen gains in efficiency and deposit activity and expect InmateInfo.com to make our operations even better.”
InmateInfo.com complements AIS™ because it can be referenced during calls to the facility. IE: “You can also retrieve inmate information and/or complete transactions over the web at www.inmateinfo.com.” Citizens that would otherwise transfer for staff assistance are able to serve themselves at InmateInfo.com potentially increasing the “automation rate,” or percentage of callers not requiring staff assistance, a primary AIS™ performance indicator.
U.S. detention facilities who already have AIS™ can be immediately added to InmateInfo.com and then integrate Inmate Info Search into their official websites with simple hyperlinks or seamlessly embedded. Facilities without AIS™ should contact Telerus Sales.
