MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®) promoted Patrick Murphy to director of Relationship Management within the IT division. In this role, Murphy is responsible for managing strategic business partner relationships that result in more effective prioritization of technology and business improvements. He also directs alignment between IT initiatives and the overall organizational requirements, providing better results for the customer. Murphy reports to the Vice President of Business Engagement, Patrick Christiansen.

Murphy began his professional career in 1995 with LifeUSA in Minneapolis where he held various roles in new business processing and IT quality assurance before the company was acquired by Allianz Life in 1999. After the acquisition, Murphy held roles in software development until 2009, when he took his most recent role as an applications manager. Prior to his promotion, Murphy was responsible for a team of IT solution engineers who led application development and managed multiple technology platforms to support divisions across the company. Murphy also supervised contracted staff and partnered with external IT vendors to enhance software systems.
Murphy has a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn. and holds a Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI) designation.
