CHAPEL HILL, N.C.--()--A symposium examining the future of business journalism will be held at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in New York on Friday, Nov. 1.

The symposium, sponsored by Talking Biz News at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Journalism and the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, will bring together thought leaders from the worlds of business, business journalism, entrepreneurship and academia to address the issues facing the industry.

The speakers will include BuzzFeed business editor Peter Lauria, Pfizer senior director Sally Beatty, Associated Press deputy business editor Kevin Shinkle, American City Business Journals senior vice president Rob Fisher and Informerly cofounder Ranjan Roy.

“Business journalism is the one field in journalism that continues to grow while also exploring new delivery formats,” said Chris Roush, senior associate dean at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Journalism and founder of Talking Biz News. “This event brings together some of the biggest names in the field, as well as users and subjects of business journalism for the first time to discuss its future.”

Talking Biz News (www.talkingbiznews.com) was founded in 2005 and is the website used by business journalists and public relations professionals to interact and find news about the business journalism world. It is part of the business journalism program at UNC-Chapel Hill.
