SONOMA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cecchetti Wine Company has experienced an upward trend since it was established in 2007, and several recent recognitions within the business community and wine industry show the company is keeping up the pace.
For the third consecutive year, Cecchetti Wine Company has been named to the Inc. 500/5000, a prestigious list of the nation's most successful private companies. The hallmark of entrepreneurial success, the Inc. 500/5000 honors companies for extensive growth.
In 2012, Cecchetti Wine Company sold a record 340,000 cases of their affordably priced California wines, including Line 39, Backhouse, Redtree and Exitus. Portfolio-wide sales volume increased 30 percent compared with 2011. With a strong first quarter of 2013, the company is on track to sell approximately 380,000 cases this year for a 10 to 15 percent growth rate.
“Our exponential growth shows that there is demand in the market for quality wine at a reasonable price,” says Roy Cecchetti, founder and CEO of Cecchetti Wine Company, who has earned this prestigious award six times while leading a company. “In just a few short years, Cecchetti Wine Company has made vast strides in the winemaking world thanks to our stellar team. And it’s the collaborative effort of our talented winemaker, a dedicated sales team, and our committed distributor, retailer and restaurant partners around the world that makes our success possible.”
Cecchetti Wine Company’s Backhouse and Line 39 brands have been named Impact Hot Prospect Brands for 2012. The annual feature in Shanken’s Impact Newsletter highlights the U.S. market’s most promising wine and spirits growth brands. “Hot Prospects” must have annual depletions of at least 50,000 cases but no more than 200,000 cases, while having achieved at least 15% growth in 2011 and solid progress in the two years prior to that.
Leading the charge at Cecchetti Wine Company was Backhouse with an increase of 93 percent to 62,000 cases. Line 39—also an Impact Hot Prospect Brand from 2008 to 2011—saw an increase of 30 percent to 112,000 cases.
Additionally, Line 39 Sauvignon Blanc recently earned its sixth consecutive “Best Buy” accolade from Wine Enthusiast magazine—an award Line 39 Sauvignon Blanc has earned in every vintage since its inception. Line 39 Chardonnay also has received the Wine Enthusiast’s Best Buy honor every vintage since inception—three years straight. Wines that earn this annual distinction from Wine Enthusiast go through a stringent tasting process of the magazine’s writers. Winners must carry suggested retail prices of $15 or less and are deemed to possess an excellent quality-to-price ratio.
Redtree, an Impact Hot Prospect Brand from 2008 to 2010, saw a 12 percent increase year-over-year to 162,000 cases. The company’s Exitus red blend, which started as an exclusive with beverage chain Beverages & More!, is now distributed nationally. This year, Cecchetti Wine Company launched its fifth brand, Austerity. The two Austerity Proprietary California wines, a red blend and white blend, are on track to sell about 6,000 cases in 2013.
