CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sullivan, Cotter and Associates, Inc., a human resources and total compensation consulting firm specializing in the health care industry, in partnership with the American Medical Group Association (AMGA), a trade association representing medical groups and organized systems of care, announced open participation of the 2013 Advanced Practice Clinician Compensation and Pay Practices Survey.
The AMGA/SullivanCotter Advanced Practice Clinician Compensation and Pay Practices Survey is a source of valuable insight into advanced practice clinician (APC) compensation levels, trends and practices, delivering critical benchmarking information to hospitals, health systems and medical groups nationwide. This survey provides the tools to systematically track and benchmark APC changes, which help organizations manage strategic and financial planning for continued growth and success.
Last year’s inaugural report contained data from more than 275 health systems, hospitals and physician group practices. These participants submitted data representing more than 20,000 certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), midwives, nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs). Additionally, data on pay practices such as on-call pay, shift differentials, incentive compensation plans and supplemental benefits were collected and reported.
The 2013 survey will cover several important topics, including:
- Total cash compensation (TCC).
- Premium pay.
- Compensation plan design.
- On-call pay.
- Education-related expenses.
- Sign-on bonuses.
- Retention bonuses.
- Moving allowances.
- Benefits costs.
- Clinical productivity data (including work RVUs and collections).
New this year, the survey compensation data will be collected for a wider selection of primary care, medical and surgical NP and PA subspecialties as well as APCs serving administrative roles. Pay practices, call coverage and on-call pay questions will be asked separately for NPs and PAs to explore differences.
The deadline to participate is August 30, 2013. Survey participants will receive complimentary electronic copies of the survey results and data tables, delivered online via PDF downloads in November 2013.
