ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Association of Old Crows (AOC) proudly announces the 50th Annual AOC International Symposium & Convention in Washington, DC, October 27-30, 2013. For 50 years, the AOC has been the professional voice of Electronic Warfare (EW). EW is instrumental in protecting militaries and exploiting adversarial weaknesses utilizing the Electromagnetic Spectrum. This year’s symposium, themed “Proud Legacy. Strong Future.,” honors the AOC community’s past achievements as a global community, and focuses on the opportunities and challenges for EW and related electromagnetic capabilities across all operational domains. Held in Washington, DC, this is the leading annual global event for Electronic Warfare (EW), Information Operations (IO), and Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) professionals around the world.
The 50th Annual AOC International Symposium and Convention provides delegates access to mission-critical information for operational decision-making. Keynote addresses come from the Honorable James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence (US); Air Chief Marshal, Sir Stuart Peach KCB CBE (UK) UK Vice Chief of the Defence Staff; and Admiral Jonathan W. Greenert, Chief of Naval Operations (US) (invited). Spanning three days, focused symposium discussions cover future acquisition strategies and warfighter perspectives; platform, individual and system of system technologies and programs across all contested environments and domains; scientific and engineering advances in state of the art EW technology; international developments; revolutionary and non-traditional EW concepts; and the EW-cyber continuum.
During this constrained fiscal environment, the AOC is pleased to offer complimentary registration to uniformed, active-duty military and government civilians. With 90%+ of the exhibit spaces currently filled, and the strong military, government, and industry presence around the Washington DC Beltway, a solid turnout is expected. Taking advantage of the location, the Symposium has a strong advocacy component as the AOC hosts a Capitol Hill Awareness Day on Thursday, October 31st, bringing EW Centers of gravity into contact with their Congressional Representatives and Senators on Capitol Hill.
The 50th Annual AOC International Symposium & Convention marks a momentous milestone for the AOC. It serves as the start of a year-long celebration of the 50th Anniversary and a spring-board to the future. To commemorate the occasion, the symposium includes a History Hall as a part of the impressive industry exhibition. A formal 50th Anniversary Banquet closes the symposium on Wednesday evening, Oct. 30th.
Attendance at this event is mission-critical for those involved in EW in any way – leadership, operational employment, policy, capability development, R&D, testing and evaluation from government, military, industry or academia. The symposium is especially valuable for “young crows” and those interested in gaining an understanding of the dynamic world of Electromagnetic Spectrum Warfare. Visit www.crows.org for more details.
AOC is a non-profit international Electronic Warfare/Information Operations (EW/IO) association which promotes electromagnetic spectrum operations and related activities across military, civilian and commercial applications. It is the mission of the AOC to advance strategy, policy and programs for EW/IO, and Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations.
