Kevin Schroeder Named Grant Thornton’s Energy Industry Managing Partner

OKLAHOMA CITY--()--Grant Thornton LLP named Kevin Schroeder, 40, as the firm’s Energy industry managing partner effective Aug. 1. He succeeds Brandon Sear, who will continue his role as the firm’s Energy industry technical partner.

Schroeder currently focuses on serving public energy companies and energy companies with IPO aspirations. He has significant international energy and natural resources industry experience, where he has audited and advised fully integrated, exploration and production, marketing and trading, transportation and field services companies.

“Kevin is a resourceful leader whose deep knowledge of the energy and natural resources industry brings instrumental insights and growth opportunities to our clients,” said Wally Gruenes, Grant Thornton’s national managing partner for industry and client experience. “He will be integral in maintaining and building upon the momentum that Brandon established for the firm’s Energy practice.”

Schroeder began his career with Grant Thornton in 1995 and rejoined the firm in 2007 as an Audit Services partner based in Oklahoma City, where he also served as the office’s Oil and Gas practice leader.

Prior to returning to Grant Thornton, Schroeder worked at KPMG in Houston, serving oil and gas companies, primarily SEC registrants, with domestic and international operations. He then spent five years in Russia working with some of the country’s largest oil and gas companies.

Schroeder is a certified public accountant in Colorado, New York and Oklahoma, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is on the advisory board for the Oklahoma State University School of Accounting and has served on the Oklahoma City boards of directors for the American Heart Association and Junior Achievement.

Schroeder received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Oklahoma State University.
