SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CiiNOW, Inc., a leader in Cloud Gaming technology and branded gaming platforms, today announced the commercial launch of a CiiNOW-powered video games service for kt media hub’s olleh tv smart users via their set-top box. The game service, called Wiz Game, will launch with popular AAA titles streamed in HD such as, LEGO Harry Potter 1-4 from Warner Bros. Interactive, NBA 2K13 from 2K Sports, and Dead Block from Kalypso Media, with additional titles such as The Witcher 2 and SuperStars V8 Racing to be added in the coming weeks. The launched service comes less than three months after the partnership between kt media hub and CiiNOW was first announced in April in Seoul, Korea, and is one of the six major services planned around the renovated IPTV offering. Gameplay on titles within Wiz Game’s content library will support a variety of game controllers at launch including, Microsoft Xbox 360 Wired Controller, Cyvox EX3, Cyvox Joytron, Logitech F510, and Logitech F710 (wireless).
“After months of planning and testing, it is a thrill to see our Cloud Gaming technology go live in the form of a compelling games service now available for KT’s customers,” said Ron Haberman, CiiNOW’s CEO and Co-Founder. “We are excited to bring a selection of great entertainment content to this growing marketplace.”
Key to the selection of CiiNOW as kt media hub’s Cloud Gaming technology partner was the company’s proven conquest over latency during gameplay. With CiiNOW’s proprietary technology, Cumulus, the latency experienced playing games is significantly less than that of consoles and other Cloud Gaming services.
“We are committed to delivering olleh tv smart customers with the best content and most exciting entertainment experience available,” said Jae Geon Yang, Director at kt media hub. “CiiNOW’s technology enables us to now offer our customers the best in gaming, and we know that Wiz Game will make olleh tv smart users very happy.”
