NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Digital network Blip announced today that former editor in chief of Tumblr Chris Mohney has joined the company as vice president of programming. Mohney takes on the newly created role and will oversee all editorial and programming direction for Blip.com and Blip content across the web and all digital platforms, across the globe. Mohney will become a senior member of Blip’s executive team and work with staff in Los Angeles, London, and the company’s New York headquarters, where he will be based starting July 15.

Mohney has worked in media, publishing and technology for the past fifteen years in a variety of roles. He most recently served as editor in chief of Tumblr, where he set the standard for the media site’s rise to prominence as well as co-produced editorial video packages for the site. He has written and edited for newspapers, magazines, books, and websites, and has managed projects and teams ranging from digital creative arts to cross-platform global brands. Previous roles include managing editorial operations at Gawker and BlackBook.
