HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Legacy Multimedia has been recognized as a recipient of a Gold Award in the Documentary category from the 2013 Hermes Creative Awards.
Hermes Creative Awards recognizes outstanding achievement by creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and emerging technologies. The competition selects winners from 188 categories and is administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, an international organization of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production, web and free-lance professionals.
Legacy Multimedia’s award-winning video biography, Betty Caldwell, A Beautiful Life, was chosen from approximately 5,600 entries from the United States, Canada and other countries.
“Although our clients praise our storytelling work, it is particularly rewarding to get positive affirmation from our peers in the industry. We pride ourselves on capturing the essence of a person, the unifying force of a group and the atmosphere of an event. My team and I do in-depth historical research and study our sources. Getting to know our subjects on a deeper level and conducting insightful interviews are the keys to getting to the heart and soul of a story,” explained Stefani Twyford, founder and president of Legacy Multimedia.
Ron W. Henriksen, Mrs. Caldwell’s son, said the birth of his nephews led him to hire Legacy Multimedia to make this video biography about his 98-year-old mother combining old photographs, newspaper clippings and family documents with live interviews. He said, “I realized that there would be generations of our family that would never get to know this remarkable woman. Stefani and her team did a terrific job of delving into the details of my mother’s life and weaving the stories into a cohesive narrative. Their interview process drew out the best in my mother and made the experience a delight for her.”
Legacy Multimedia was prominently featured in a March 2013 article in the New York Times about the process of immortalizing one’s memoirs through oral histories and video biographies. The writer, J. Peder Zane, contacted Ms. Twyford as he was putting together ideas for this article not only because of the video biography samples he saw on Legacy Multimedia’s website, but the quality of the website itself. He watched the entire two hours of Betty Caldwell, A Beautiful Life with his family and said they found it “riveting!”
