Interactive displays, EduCam and training programs illustrate commitment to holistic approach

The company highlighted new interactive displays and short-throw projectors, video production curriculum and classroom camera solutions at its booth. It also introduced new professional development programs and pricing discounts for K-12 educators.

At ISTE, Panasonic launched a new professional development (PD) program for K-12 classroom teachers, aimed at strengthening their use and adoption of technology, ultimately empowering them to be more effective in the classroom and maximizing return on technology investments. Developed in partnership with Eduscape Partners, the PD programs cover timely and relevant topics such as “Google Apps” and “BYOD Learning Spaces.” Unlike other PD programs available, Panasonic professional development focuses on results and outcomes, rather than specific products.

An established leader in video equipment, Panasonic announced a new video production curriculum for K-12 districts that emphasizes college and career readiness at ISTE. The curriculum is based on a toolkit that teaches video production; it not only instructs students on the traditional skills of capturing video, but also high-level editing. The program also offers cloud video hosting, allowing students to access their content anywhere. Panasonic’s partner JDL Horizons will be on-site to demonstrate this new solution at ISTE.

“While there are wonderful technologies that enhance and improve the learning experience, most schools struggle with a budget to fund them. We want to make sure that our learning tools can be within reach,” added Thie.

At ISTE, Panasonic introduced special pricing for K-12 institutions that will become available in the near future. The discounts will be applicable to any K-12 products, such as Toughbook and Toughpad mobile computers, displays, projectors, security systems and classroom audio solutions.

This year’s booth demonstrated how various solutions can be integrated to address challenges in the classroom, including office technologies such as phones, document imaging solutions, laptops and tablets, and security solutions. Highlights at Panasonic’s ISTE booth, #6240, include:

  • Interactive Displays: Panasonic’s PB2 Display of the Interactive Display series enables collaboration and idea sharing with a Digital Pen System that allows users to write, annotate and move items around the screen with pixel by pixel accuracy. The PB2 Interactive Display is available in both 103-inch and 85-inch.
  • Interactive Ultra Short-Throw Projectors: With up to 3,100 lumens and a contrast ratio of 8,000:1, the recently announced portable, ultra-short throw PT-CW330 Series produces bright, crisp, clear images and includes the interactive PT-CW331 model. These projectors are able to generate an 80-inch diagonal image from less than two feet from lens to screen, delivering large image projection in confined spaces, without distracting shadows cast by teachers.
  • Classroom Cameras: Panasonic debuted EduCam, a multi-functional 360 degree camera designed specifically for the classroom. With EduCam, teachers are able to control the camera from their Enhanced Audio wearable pendant to record teacher mentorship programs, teacher evaluations, and for security and liability purposes.
