LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TechWeekEurope, the leading technology news and advice website, is pleased to announce the date and theme for its next Tech Club event, a senior level networking forum for IT professionals, which is taking place on 17th July 2013. The next Tech Club, which now boosts over 700 members, will be held in the heart of Tech City in East London, where members will hotly debate the pros and cons of Tech City.
Tech City is a technology cluster located in Central and East London. It is the largest cluster of Innovative tech start-ups in Europe. Cisco, Facebook, Google, Intel, McKinsey & Company and Vodafone are among the companies which have invested in the area. Imperial College London, Loughborough University, City University London and University College London are academic partners in projects based in the cluster.
At the event, Peter Judge, editor of TechWeekEurope will announce the findings from its recent survey which looks at what Tech City has done for IT? Are start-ups making things better for IT people? The government has lavished its hopes on tech start-ups as a way to boost Britain’s economy, but are start-ups in Britain actually doing much good for the average IT department?
Peter Judge comments on the new survey: “IT professionals are going through a major shake-up, as new technologies threaten to change their role entirely. IT departments that don’t adapt will be side-lined, but those who address the new possibilities can create a new role for IT, driving fresh ways of doing business and enabling colleagues to compete better.”
Tech Club is an established forum for IT professionals aimed at sharing and learning through meetings, research and education. The aim of the Tech Club is to engage and involve tech readers, shaping and developing future coverage on the site, as well as feeding back research to its members.
