Martin Marietta Materials Reaps the Benefits with UniPrint™ Infinity Managed Print Solution

Ensures Reliable Printing in Citrix Environment to Remote Workforce

TORONTO--()--UniPrint (www.uniprint.net), the leader in printing virtualization, today announced that Martin Marietta Materials, a UniPrint customer for over a decade, has upgraded to UniPrint Infinity managed print solution for its entire Citrix environment. With UniPrint Infinity, Martin Marietta receives a printer-vendor independent solution that combines its large network of varying printing devices into a single system that simplifies printer management, improves print reliability, and allows all users to print from any location on any client device.

Martin Marietta is the second-largest provider of construction aggregates in the United States. Its network connects thousands of internal employees and external suppliers and vendors that are highly dispersed, with 300 facilities across 33 states. Approximately 90% of its 3,200 users access and print remotely from 140 applications, including the JD Edwards ERP system.

UniPrint Infinity simplifies printer management and adds cost efficiency by replacing all manufacturer printer drivers for Martin Marietta’s vast, dispersed network of printing devices with a universal printer driver (UPD) that is printer-vendor independent. The solution allows for anywhere, anytime, any device printing, giving users the capability to print easily and efficiently, whether they are in the office, on the road or on a barge along the Mississippi. In addition, because UniPrint Infinity converts and compresses print jobs into PDF files, it enables consistent printing for users printing from bandwidth-constrained work sites.

David Jastrow, Client Services Manager at Martin Marietta, said, “Due to the nature of our business, we have a highly complex IT environment where many of our users are in remote areas where it’s difficult to receive a good connection. UniPrint has successfully been able to handle these issues for us through the use of its UPD. In addition to solving our printer driver problems, UniPrint has proven to be a strategic partner that provides us with superior customer support service, reducing our help desk calls.”

“Having so many types of printing devices with various drivers will increase incompatibility and workflow issues for any organization, as was the case with Martin Marietta and its printing environment” said Arron Fu, VP of Software Development at UniPrint. “A truly universal printer driver is required for efficient printing and simplified printer management. With this, in addition to user-authenticated secure pull printing, print statistics and archiving modules, Martin Marietta now has a comprehensive printing system that can handle the future growth of the company.”
