ORBCOMM and Cartrack Deliver Telematics Solution for African Market

Adds first African transportation VAR to customer portfolio and expands business on continent

(Cartrack) has selected ORBCOMM to provide satellite data communication services to extend its current range of GSM logistics and telematics solutions. Cartrack will distribute the high-performance fleet management solution throughout the African continent via its growing brand and dealer network.

Cartrack, a leading vehicle tracking and logistics company based in Johannesburg, South Africa, will use ORBCOMM’s global satellite network to track and monitor the location, routes and status of its vehicles in near-real-time. By integrating ORBCOMM’s global satellite communications service into its telematics solution, Cartrack will helps its customers gain significant operating advantages and cost savings through an enhanced coverage footprint and improved visibility and security over their assets even in the most remote areas of the African continent outside of typical GSM coverage.
