Journal Broadcast Group Completes Purchase of WNOX-FM From Oak Ridge FM, Inc.

MILWAUKEE--()--Journal Broadcast Group, a subsidiary of Journal Communications, Inc. (NYSE:JRN), has completed the purchase of 100.3 WNOX FM, licensed to Oak Ridge, TN, in the Knoxville, TN, market from Oak Ridge FM, Inc., for $5.96 million in cash.

“The addition of WNOX FM to our successful cluster of radio stations will give a very talented Journal team the opportunity to provide more great programming to the Knoxville community,” said Steven Smith, Chairman and CEO of Journal Communications. “Giving this team another strong asset is a very exciting proposition.”

Journal Broadcast Group owns three other radio stations in Knoxville, including WCYQ-FM Q93 (Country), WWST-FM Star 102.1 (Contemporary), and WKHT-FM Hot 104.5 (Contemporary).
