LINDON, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AccessData Group, the leading provider of digital forensics, cyber security and e-discovery software, today introduced a new hardware product, MPE+ Talon, and announced the release of version 5.3 of the company’s MPE+ software platform.
MPE+ 5.3 is the latest release of AccessData’s market-leading mobile forensics product. Highlights of the new release include support for iOS up to and including 6.1.3; the ability to set alerts for keywords, phone numbers or any other data type. MPE+ then flags and extracted data that is associated with those keywords; password bypass on Samsung Galaxy SII and SIII models; a new reporting view which is built to handle high capacity mobile devices to allow reporting in many new formats; and extraction and collection enhancements. These features and improvements will not only deepen MPE+’s forensic capabilities but also particularly assist those legal professionals using MPE+ for mobile device e-discovery.
Also releasing is MPE+ Talon, an optional hardware add-on that integrates seamlessly with MPE+ 5.3 to provide physical support for devices with Chinese chipsets. As the manufacture, export and purchase of cheap, generic phones and tablets becomes more common, mobile forensic labs are encountering devices that look mainstream, but are actually counterfeit phones with Chinese chipsets. In these instances, most mobile forensic solutions are unable to access and process the data from these devices, making it impossible for investigators to obtain mission-critical information quickly and easily. MPE+ Talon solves this problem by providing physical and logical extraction from 95% of Chinese chipsets and enabling full flash data extraction from these devices containing chips from MediaTek, Spreadtrum, MStar, TI, Phillips, Coolsand and more. This places AccessData Group in a unique position amongst its competitors, as MPE+ technology is now able to support more of these unique devices than any other solution on the market today.
“We are excited to be able to add this new product to our mobile device investigation line, and strengthen our current and evolving MPE+ solution,” stated Lee Reiber, Global Director of Mobile Forensics for AccessData Group. “MPE+ 5.3 adds features that will greatly simplify the review of e-discovery related from mobile devices, and MPE+ Talon offers mobile forensic investigators a powerful, first-to-market solution to extract data from mobile devices with Chinese chipsets with a simple and seamless add-on. AccessData is proud to continue innovating in both the mobile e-discovery and mobile forensic investigation markets.”
