DALLAS--()--Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced at its Odyssey® national user conference in Orlando, Fla., three recipients of its 2013 Tyler Public Sector Excellence Awards for the Odyssey court case management solution. Tyler’s 2013 Odyssey Excellence Award national winners are South Dakota Unified Judicial System, New Mexico State Judiciary, and the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.

Tyler’s Excellence Awards for Odyssey recognize organizations that have demonstrated excellence in deploying Odyssey solutions in novel and successful ways that extend best practices. The awards honor innovation in organizational efficiency, productivity and responsiveness.

Award submissions were evaluated by a panel of Tyler leadership. Entries were judged on business value, maturity, innovation and relevance to other public-sector organizations. Additional criteria met by award winners include:

  • Creating a unique process that utilizes a Tyler application
  • Realizing significant savings after implementing a Tyler product
  • Increasing staff productivity by implementing a Tyler product
  • Empowering employees, citizens or vendors

The New Mexico State Judiciary rolled out Odyssey statewide — ahead of schedule and within budget — including mandatory e-filing; the South Dakota Unified Judicial System built an integration exchange to keep data in sync seamlessly on two systems while migrating to Odyssey from its legacy system; and the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Michigan reduced paper by a third by using Odyssey’s workflow and document management functionality, while ensuring confidentiality of legally restricted information.

These three Tyler Excellence Award winners were honored on April 3, 2013, at the Odyssey user conference in Orlando, Fla., where they were presented with the award. Winners were also offered an expense-paid trip to the conference.

“Tyler’s Public Sector Excellence Awards program is our chance to publicly recognize clients who meet constituent needs by embracing technology to help them improve operations and manage tight budgets through innovative uses of Odyssey,” said Bruce Graham, president of Tyler’s Courts & Justice Division. “Feedback from our forward-thinking clients continues to enhance the power of Odyssey, and at this conference we are showing off new capabilities that will help courts move further toward end-to-end electronic transactions. Congratulations to the winners of Odyssey’s Tyler Excellence Awards.”
