— Global payment security leaders invited to gather in Kuala Lumpur to address payment security challenges; mobile, cloud computing —

SINGAPORE--()--At the 6th Mobile Commerce Summit Asia 2013, speaking on the topic of mobile payment acceptance security in Asia-Pacific, Jeremy King, PCI Security Standards Council European Director, announced the Council’s first ever Asia-Pacific PCI Community Meeting will take place in Kuala Lumpur in November 2013.

“New technologies such as mobile and cloud computing are quickly changing the way we do business and accept payments. And those in Asia-Pacific are at the forefront of these changes”

The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) is an open, global forum for the development of payment card security standards. PCI Community Meetings provide the opportunity for global leaders representing a breadth of industries and geographies to come together and discuss the latest updates and challenges in payment card security. The Council holds these meetings each year in North America and Europe. Following strong attendance and interest in a PCI town hall style meeting in Singapore in June 2012, the Council decided to expand the Community Meeting to Asia-Pacific this year as it continues to promote payment card security globally.

The date and location for the meeting is as follows:

Asia-Pacific PCI Community Meeting
20 November 2013
Shangri-La Hotel
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The one-day meeting will feature keynotes from industry experts, case study presentations from those on the front lines of payment security, an interactive roundtable session with the PCI Council’s technical team, as well as updates from Special Interest Group (SIG) participants. As the next version of the PCI Standards will be published in November 2013, meeting participants will have the chance to hear directly from the Council on the new changes and how to apply them to their organizations. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with colleagues and PCI Council and brand members via targeted networking sessions and office hours.

“New technologies such as mobile and cloud computing are quickly changing the way we do business and accept payments. And those in Asia-Pacific are at the forefront of these changes,” Jeremy King, PCI SSC European Director, told attendees at the 6th Mobile Commerce Summit Asia 2013. “As we look to ensure the security of payments here and around the world, your expertise and input into the Council’s work is critical. We’re thrilled to announce this year’s first ever Asia-Pacific PCI Community Meeting in Kuala Lumpur as a great opportunity for us to come together to share ideas for addressing these payment security challenges.”

Qualified Security Assessors (QSAs) and Internal Security Assessor (ISA) training sessions are planned for the event also. For more information on training, visit: https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/training/index.php

The meeting is open to members of the PCI community and the general public. Attendance fees are as follows:
